LIVE: Road conditions in DFW for Tuesday
After briefly ending the subfreezing streak, it remains bitterly cold this morning. Any lingering moisture has iced over, resulting in patches of black ice on exposed surfaces. Residents should exercise extra caution.
As of 5:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 26, nearly 13,000 people were without power as the storm moved through Oncor's service territory, the agency's outage map shows. Oncor's service area includes the majority of North Texas and parts of West Texas.
Highs on Monday reached just above freezing, ending a 54-hour run of below-freezing temperatures in the metroplex. Those temperatures will quickly drop Monday evening. Expect a quick re-freezing on the roads Monday night and overnight.
